Day 466 - 1 Corinthians 2:1~5

And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.[a] For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

  1. In preaching the words of God it is important to put the focus on Jesus, not on ourselves lest the one we evangelized praise us instead of the Him, and lest we forget that it is the Holy Spirit that is at work in us, not us and us alone. For the devil is the most cunning creature I've ever known that there is no way that I (or you) can out-think him. He has our numbers. So in our work in the kingdom of God let us put our trust and faith in the only one man who decisively defeated the devil, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. All the praise and glory and honor belongs to Him, not to us. Amen.
